July 2025 Newsletter
As we look back on June, we’re filled with gratitude and pride for everything our incredible community has achieved together.
At the start of the month, we laced up our running shoes for the Brodstock Ultra Marathon, raising vital funds to keep our work reaching those who need it most. To everyone who ran, cheered, sponsored or donated – thank you for going the distance with us!
On top of these amazing milestones, June was full of everyday acts of kindness. So many local companies, groups and kind-hearted individuals have been collecting food and essentials for our community. These donations mean the world – they help us support families, individuals and those who might otherwise go without.
From ultra-marathons to food collections, none of this would happen without our supporters, volunteers, sponsors and friends. You remind us every day what’s possible when people come together to look after one another.
Thank you for standing with us – and for being the hope in Focus4Hope. Here’s to a summer filled with more connection, compassion and community care.
In June your donations allowed us to…

Feeding Community Report 2025
The new Feeding Community Report 2025 by Feeding Britain highlights just how powerful Affordable Food Clubs can be – and we’re so proud to be part of that impact.
The report shows that Affordable Food Clubs like ours help thousands of people access healthy, affordable food while saving money every week. But it’s not just about food – these clubs also reduce isolation and help people find extra support when they need it most.
At Focus4Hope, our Food Club – Calderdale’s first Social Supermarket – was launched with FoodSavers to give people a more sustainable, dignified alternative to emergency food parcels. For a small weekly cost, members get fresh fruit, vegetables, store-cupboard items and household essentials – plus a warm drink, cake and a safe space to connect.
The report shows how this holistic approach helps families weather the cost-of-living crisis while building stronger, more resilient communities. We’re proud to be part of this growing movement for lasting change – and we’ll keep working to make sure no one is left behind.
This is why we do what we do.
