Senior Days Out

Combating isolation and loneliness, especially amongst the elderly, is a key focus for Focus4Hope. Our Senior Days Out, which take place every 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month, are something our elderly community really look forward to.

Using ‘Hope’, our Focus4Hope minibus, we take seniors out for day trips to locations across Yorkshire and beyond, typically visiting museums, local beauty spots, theatres, picturesque towns and National Trust sites. Our Senior Days Out are a chance for seniors to come together, make new friends and enjoy a day out with our fantastic volunteers.

Each participant on the trip receives their lunch and transport totally free of charge, thanks to funds we kindly receive from the National Lottery Community Fund.

Afternoon Teas

Alongside our twice monthly Senior Days Out, we also host Afternoon Tea Events for the elderly throughout the year, as well as a special Christmas Lunch.

At these events our seniors are waited on hand and foot, we invite local artists and musicians to showcase their talent and entertain our elderly guests, whilst they enjoy their afternoon tea, created by our volunteers, and of course a few games of bingo.

Reminiscent Cinema

Nothing beats a trip down memory lane. Once a month we hold our Reminiscent Cinema Afternoons, where our local elderly community can come together for a lovely afternoon and watch a classic movie.

Both our Reminiscent Cinema Afternoons and our Afternoon Tea Events take place at St John the Divine, Rastrick Street, Brighouse HD6 1HN.
