For Participation in either the Multi‑Terrain Running/Walking or Cycling Events Event Name: Brodstock Challenge4Hope Event Date: 30^th August 2026

1. Acknowledgement of Risk

By signing this form, I acknowledge and understand that this event takes place over multiple miles and includes a variety of terrains, including but not limited to:

• Public roads with active traffic
• Off‑road trails
• Slippery, uneven, steep, or unstable ground
• Mud, loose surface material, and natural trip and slip hazards
• Weather‑affected terrain (rain, possible poor visibility, heat)

I understand that participation in this event carries an inherent risk of injury, illness, accident, or worse due to the nature of the course and environmental conditions.

2. Personal Responsibility

I confirm that:

• I am physically fit and capable of undertaking this event.
• I am responsible for my own safety at all times during the event.
• I will take all reasonable care when using andcrossing roads, train tracks, navigating terrain, and interacting with other competitors and the public.
• While the organiser may provide water, food, or aid stations, I understand that these are supplementary and I am responsible for ensuring I am self‑sufficient, including carrying any supplies, food, water, or equipment I deem necessary.
• I understand that it is my responsibility to ensure that any food/drink provided by the organiser is safe for me to consume due to any potential allergy risks. If in any doubt I will use my own food/drink supplies.
• I will follow all instructions given by event organisers, marshals, and safety personnel.

3. Traffic, Road /Rail Crossings & Navigation

I acknowledge that parts of the course require me to use,  cross or run / cycle alongside busy public roads and Rail tracks I accept the responsibility to:

• Obey the Highway Code
• Check for traffic before crossing
• Use caution when interacting with vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists
• Use where possible crossing facilities provided for pedestrian use, also use the traffic light system for crossing the rail track

Navigation is my responsibility, and I will follow course markers or maps where provided.

I will ensure that the Countryside Code is adhered to; which includes amongst other rules; no littering, being respectful to farm land, property and animals and ensuring all gates are closed.

 

4. Assumption of Risk & Waiver of Liability

In consideration of being permitted to participate, I hereby:

• Assume full responsibility for any risks, injuries, or damages that I may incur as a result of participating in this event
• Waive, release, and discharge the event organisers, volunteers, sponsors, landowners, and associated parties from any and all liability for injury, loss, or damage arising out of or connected to my participation
• Agree that I take part voluntarily and entirely at my own risk

This waiver does not exclude or limit liability where such exclusion is not permitted by law.

5. Medical Consent

I confirm that:

• I do not have any medical condition that would make participation unsafe
• If I become injured or unwell, I consent to receiving basic first aid
• I accept that emergency response may be limited by terrain or location

6. Personal Property

I understand that the organiser is not responsible for any loss or damage to personal belongings.

7. Declaration

I have read and fully understand this disclaimer. I agree to abide by all event rules and accept full responsibility for my participation.
