October 2026 Newsletter
September has been a particularly special month at Focus4Hope as we celebrated 10 years of supporting our community. We held a special anniversary drop-in at the Hub, bringing together our team, volunteers, supporters and friends.
Our seniors also enjoyed their annual trip to Blackpool, making wonderful memories together. The trip was kindly funded byCommunity Foundation for Calderdale and Hillards Charitable Trust, and we’re incredibly grateful for their support.
We also hosted a fantastic afternoon tea event, complete with a brilliant ABBA tribute, bringing everyone together for an afternoon of music, laughter and good company.
September saw Louise and the team take fundraising to new heights with a sponsored sky dive and wing walk, raising vital funds for homeless and vulnerable people. Louise was also invited to 10 Downing Street in recognition of Focus4Hope’s work over the summer, a fantastic achievement for the charity.
Celebrating 10 Years of Focus4Hope
This September, we celebrated a huge milestone as Focus4Hope turned 10!
We marked the occasion with a special anniversary drop-in at our Community Hub, bringing together our amazing team, volunteers, supporters, partners and friends to celebrate a decade of making a difference across our community.
It was wonderful to see so many people come together to enjoy an afternoon of food, drinks, cake and celebration. We were also delighted to welcome the Mayor of Calderdale, making the occasion even more special.
Over the past 10 years, Focus4Hope has supported people experiencing homelessness, hardship, loneliness and vulnerability. None of this would have been possible without the incredible people who have stood alongside us, from our dedicated staff and volunteers to our generous donors, partners and supporters.
Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate and to everyone who has been part of our journey so far. We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together and look forward to continuing our work and supporting our community for many years to come.
Thanks to your support, in September we were able to:

Volunteer of the Month
Janey Bussey
Janet is a newer member of our volunteer team, but she has already thrown herself into everything we do.
From helping with our homeless outreach in Leeds to getting involved with our community lunches, Janet has been there, getting stuck in and supporting the people who rely on our services.
It’s been brilliant to have you as part of the Focus4Hope team, Janet. Thank you for giving your time, getting involved and making a difference to the people we support.
We really appreciate you!

Artisan Electrical
Artisan Electrical kindly sponsored our 10th Birthday Celebration, helping us mark such a special milestone for Focus4Hope and raise vital funds for the work we do.

We really appreciate your support.
From Brighouse to Downing Street!
Our founder, Louise Reed, recently had the incredible honour of being invited to 10 Downing Street in recognition of Focus4Hope’s work supporting vulnerable people during the summer heatwaves, particularly those experiencing homelessness.
Louise joined charities and voluntary organisations from across the country, with the Prime Minister thanking them for their vital work in supporting communities.
The invitation is especially meaningful as Focus4Hope celebrates its 10th anniversary. While Louise represented the charity, this recognition belongs to our incredible staff, volunteers, partners, donors and supporters who have helped make our work possible over the past decade.
From Brighouse to Downing Street, we’re incredibly proud of how far we’ve come. Thank you to everyone who continues to support Focus4Hope and help us make a difference.
